about MITSUO

Mitsuo Miyagi is a contemporary artist who lives and works in Japan and Canada. Born in Okinawa in 1976.

In 2015, he received an award from Japan’s Ministry of the Environment as one of the Outstanding Young People of Japan.

Mitsuo uses a variety of materials to create unique artworks, many of which depict Seasir, regarded as a guardian or deity in Okinawa in Japan. The origin is Shpinx in Egypt.
He has exhibited at various spaces including Tokyo, Kyoto, and Paris in France.

Mitsuo’s work is held in various collections, including Kyushu National Museum, Kojima Co., Ltd.
